So we decided our tiny cabin would benefit from a screened porch and are currently seeking estimates.

I am hoping you seasoned vets could give me a rough figure of what you think it would cost to construct based on this description from one of the local guys.

" tongue and groove paneling inside and cedar siding on the outside, pressure treated deck frame and decking 5/4 decking board, aluminum screen, screen door (mostly solid) and shingles."

The size will be 8x6 with solid paneling about 1/3rd up with a solid door so our goofy dog won't burst through the screen. Includes pressure treated stairs as well.

Curious if the price quoted was fair. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

May I ask where you are located and will the posts be on poured footings below the frost line or just sitting on concrete pads?

It sounds similar to a quote we are looking at for our camp. Ours is for a 8x24 deck with attached roof to camp and shingled on concrete pads. They are also installing a steel door for access to the porch. Our quote doesn't include screening it in. That was the part of the project I wanted to do. The quote we got was $6400. We are located near Bangor, ME. Prices do vary based on were you live. Your project in my area I would expect to be in the $2000 range give or take $500.

Thanks Thelar! And you sir have some estimating skill. We were quoted in the 2500-2600 dollar range before tax. At least I know it's within a reasonable range. Cheers!

I am just building one on my cabin 12x21, doing it myself and tempting friends with food for help. Should top out at about $1800 when done.
