While bow hunting on my property deep in the woods in a tree stand I hear a loud rumble in the woods. I'm at least two miles in from a dirt road that is used more by ATVs and Amish buggies than cars.
This sound is loud. I think to myself this is the loudest deer ever or maybe a stumbling bear.
The out of nowhere comes four cows running faster than any cow I've ever seen. They run right past my stand and keep going. At this point I feel it pretty useless to stay in the stand as they must of scared anything out of the woods. And, somebody must be looking for these cows. I get out to the dirt road and there's a guy on an ATV. You looking for cow? Why yes. Well have I got a surprise for you.

lot of meat on a cow, I think I might have been tempted.

I had a similar event years ago. Way back in the bush, miles to any house and 2 great danes ran right up to me. Thought I was going to have to defend myself for a while. Then they sniffed and turned and kept on running. Strange, and wouldn't really want to be a tan great dane running through the bush during deer season.
