So right now, I pull out the genie when I arrive and basically have it under a supported tarp if it begins to rain. I'm wanting to build a more permanent generator shed that also allows for the airflow required to run.
What have folks built?

at some of the off grid hunting camps I have been too...most have a 3 sided "dog house" built out of wood...with a tin or shingle roof...back side open for exhaust ....and they point that open end AWAY from the camp....and send the noise in the opposite direction of camp

You might make it big enough whil you are at it to have some storage , shelving for all those things we don't need on a daily basis. Put a door on it that you can lock if you are not at camp. It can be left open when the generator is running. Also install a light inside and outside. That you can plug into your generator, something as simple as an extension cord so you have light when you go up to shut it off at night. old243

My shed is 8' x 8' and it's used for storage and generator. I cobbled together some auto exhaust pipe and clamps, cut a hole in the wall and vented that way. I didn't work well because even in a 64 sq. ft. area the generator put out way too much heat. I measured temps in the 80°F range.
Not good for the unit.
I found an aftermarket shield that was made specifically to fit my EU2000i. It is molded to fit and cover the entire backside of my unit and uses a standard 4" dryer vent connection through the side wall of the shed. Thus it not only directs exhaust but also the heat from the rear cooling fins.
Works beautifully.

Now I see your's is a different brand, but perhaps there is something available aftermarket for you as well.

I've seen people build a insulated box with a lid and build in a box fan at one end and louvers or screen on the other end to blow the heat and exhaust out. They plug the fan in to the generator and it works when the generator is on and its quite.

We built a 6' x 8' shed for the generator and some storage. Went with 8' walls. It is about 75' from the cabin. I insulated all of the walls that are facing the cabin. We can't hear our Honda EU300i running away in the shed unless it is dead calm and we are outside. No chance of hearing it when we are in the cabin.

To manage the heat and exhaust, I added a screened vent near the exhaust exit of the generator. I also added screened air intakes up under the eaves of the roof to let fresh air in. I also put a box fan blowing out the lower large screened exit vent. Just plug it into the generator and turn it on. It runs any time we have the generator running. No need to run it otherwise.

The small top-hinged door gives me access to start and stop the generator without opening up the big door.

Works like a charm and we have plenty of storage for the chain saw, grill, building materials, etc.

In hind sight, I should have made it 6' x 12'. Wouldn't have been too much more to build and would have been much easier to store 4x8 sheets of material and stuff inside.

Some great feedback. Thanks gang.
The fan is a great idea and I never thought of checking Yamaha for a heat shield option
Jaransont3 - nice set up. I'm actually building an 8x12 shed and could incorporate some of your ideas.
Thinking I might mount some type of steel ring into the floor joist, with a portion of it exposed above floor, to lock the genie to it , as well.
