"As you shower, a drain in the floor recaptures the water you're using and pumps it through a proprietary purification filter in the base so that it's clean enough to use again. Thanks to this system, the company says that a family of three could shower for two weeks using the same five gallons of water. That's about 50 showers and would save about 150 gallons (568 L) of water over traditional showers."

I wouldn't think they will be flying off the shelves, but an interesting concept. Someday it may be mainstream.

You are probably right. I haul water in and out to my place so saving water would be great. Might work well in rv's too!

Envirolet has a whole-house greywater filtering system that handles 80 gallons/day for $1,599. I wonder if you could rig it up so you could reuse the filtered water for showers and such rather than just landscape watering? Maybe divert some to a small holding vessel with a pump? The greywater goes through 5 filters before it's "done."
