so looking for some input on paint sprayers. Been thinking about buying a Graco Magnum X7 which is the same as the Graco Magnum LTS17 at Lowes. Need to paint the hunting shack, my house and fence in town also.

Make sure you research the tip size of the paint you want to use vs the tip size your spayer is capable of. I believe the max tip for the X7 is .17 and most exterior paints like a .17 or larger.

Was looking at BEHR Premium Plus Enamel paint. the recommend a .015 to .021 tip.
The Graco pro19 will handle a .019 tip and the pro21 will handle the .021 tips but the price is ALOT more and a pro unit.

sprayer supporting a .17 tip should handle most latex and oil based paints stains and varnishes. Also, there is no real need to buy pro grade on something your are going to just use occasionally. Graco is the industry standard (IMO). Spend some extra time when cleaning it out and you should be fine with the LTS17

Also FYI larger tips mean more material coming out of the gun. If your not proficient, that can mean more sags and runs. Also, any time you are spraying siding, fences, etc. it's always a good idea to back brush or roll the coating to even out the thickness of the coating.

Thanks for the input guys. A buddy brought over his Graco sprayer when I painted my shop and got to play with it a little bit there. unfortunately I couldn't contact him to find out the model.
So I ended up buying the Magnum X7 and will be heading out to paint the shack this weekend. See how well it goes and hopefully not paint myself to badly.

X7 is a good choice. It should be perfect for what you need. I had an X5, it worked well for me for a while but wouldn't support all types of primer. I now have a graco395 which I love.
Tip, check all hose connections to make sure they are tight before starting.
Put it on thin! It is too easy to get carried away and hit spots a 2nd and 3rd time. It will look fine at first, but then you will have a big sag all of a sudden!
Clean thoroughly!, and if you really want it to last a long time, one sprayer for latex base and one for oil base.

Thanks everyone for your input. The X7 worked like a champ!! The paint was very thick acrylic latex and I was worried about it spraying but not a lick of trouble. Great machine and now I'm actually looking forward to painting my house, except for the masking part

Make sure to run some pump preservative in the pump before storing it. It really helps the valves from sticking later on.

flushed the unit till water ran clear, then let it pressure up and ran it that way several times and then just for the heck of it ran another 3 gallons of clean water through it. Now that I'm back home I will run the pump flush that came with the unit in it and also stop and pick up another bottle of it to have on hand

If it is going to sit more than a couple days, fill it with the graco pump guard.
