Amen! It will be Christmas at my house as long as I am here. My children are taught the real reason. We celebrate Christmas. Others have their own celebrations and I don't fault them. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Merry Christmas! I was hoping to head out to the cabin today but wife's not crazy about leaving a warm bed for a frozen cabin.

Getting in under the wire to wish you all a merry Christmas! I spent a lovely weekend with my friends, and offer you a pic of an old loggers cabin on their property that they hope to restore at some point. (here's hoping the pic doesn't show up askew, sigh.)

penned last night;

Well, our Christmas ended with a sweet little bash with our off grid family friends down the path.
Warm cabin
Hot good food (the turkey was done to perfection)
A nip of the spirits, a piece of apple pie
Kick back
Good movie
Fun games (I’m undefeated world champion of Pie Face, btw)
Great folks
Sweet kids
Entertaining pets
Zero stress

Happy comes in a plain wrapper

It’s what’s inside

‘Twas proven tonight

Surely was

Slumber is comin’ easy

Somebody catch those lights;

I'm Christian too. I work in a field where a lot of my coworkers and customers aren't Christian. Over the years they have become my friends. I haven't missed a Christmas (or Christmas Eve or Easter) home with my family in years because my non-Christian coworkers have worked double shifts to make sure I don't have to. So for me, I'm glad to say "Happy Holidays". Christianity is the top-dog religion in this country. It's just bad sportsmanship to insist upon rubbing it in other people's faces, especially when my coworkers and customers have been so generous and loyal with me. So as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord...and also remember what he commanded us about respectfully treating strangers in a strange land.

Thanks for the assist, Gary O!

And beautiful posts, Gary and fiftyfifty!

Right on, fiftyfifty. Being Christian isn't about mere words. It's a lot about how one treats, views, and interacts with people. To bear Christ's name while always being offended, looking down on others, or promoting division and hatred is anything but Christian. It makes me sad. Your story is so awesome!
