Seems like scams like this and many others are proliferating. I used to get all these calls supposedly from the IRS- pure bullpuppy.
My father, an aging senior, got a call supposedly from some police department, saying that they had arrested my nephew, his grandson. Then some young person comes on the line, supposedly the grandson, saying he needs bail money to get out of jail. My father didn't go for it. Total scam. Bizarre.
I don't trust ANYTHING any more, unless there's real proof.
Too bad we have come to this.
