2017 Tech update: Plus: Creeky sells stuff

Hey all, I'm building 2 new solar systems for the spring using "hybrid" all-in-one inverters. They use the new TI chip. So american tech, chinese mfct. I'm wondering if anyone wants one.

You can find the new inverters by googling: cnbou helios; SolaX; Victron multigrid; igrid

I'm doing an order from China or Europe if anyone is interested. The inverter/chargers will be set for my lithium batteries.

I also have lithium batteries 48v and 24v. Can custom size.

Plus I got a wholesale deal on some solar racking. If you want some top of the line solar racking complete with adjustable legs. I have 4 sets left; good for up to 6 panels each. These are complete with straps, hangers, you name it.

I have a new website. bobolinksolar dot com
have a look.

Peace and happiness for 2017.

You be quite the entrepeneur young Creekymeister.

BTW, the lithium, SBMS100 setup at the cabin just sits there and works. How nice.

Super glad to hear the sbms is working out.

I'm going to do some "grid tied" also. still working on that. my experience is off grid of course. so i've put together the best of 2017 to help others.

lithium rules!

How long does Li last vs lead?

lg is saying 6000 cycles. but like lead it depends on how hard you run 'em. that's 6000 cycles at 80% dod.

so with lead at 1500 cycles: 4 times the lifespan.

of course the performance benefits far outweigh the lifespan. lithium when hit with high surge/drain (motor start up, large resistive loads like an induction cooktop or coffee maker) has no problem.

lead acid when hit with high surge/drain turns some electricity into electrons and some into heat. and ages faster.

the list of benefits for lithium goes on and on. you can read a post by Simon on my blog. He's been using lithium since 2011.

Note how pricing has changed. Lithium is now, usable kws, the same price as lead. (this will unleash the trolls)

Its funny, and a bit sad, he took a lot of grief for talking about using an induction cooktop. Which of course you can't do with lead acid without creating a lot of heat and aging your battery. But with lithium it was no problem. Back in 2013 this was just not comprehensible by many.

People are catching on tho.
