I'm thinking of buying a small grain grinding mill for use in my cabin kitchen. I want to grind grains for bread making, especially the wild rice grain we gather from our lake. Anyone have experience with small scale grinders? What should I look for, size, quality, prices, etc?

There are alot of small hand and electric mills out there, look for ones used in Homebrewing.

I have the hand grind coffee mill and it has worked flawlessly for 7 years. They are a great source for back to the basic living.

I have a Victoria hand grinder. Works beautifully for most grain types. It is also adjustable for coarseness. I can do cracked wheat to pretty darn good flour. It's compact and inexpensive.

Funny, just after I read this thread, the whole left side panel of ads was for grain mills, and a big ad for Lehmans. The internet just creeps me out sometimes...

i have a antique corn sheller, and hand made wooden, grinding box /4 legsn with funnel that goes to your burlap bag or flour sack, also i have the sears grinder ( 1970's vintage) for grind your corn in meal etc. after you shell it, this belonged to my Dad and is the back of my barn----- i
