I was reading that most of the low expansion foams used to seal gaps around doors and windows become too rigid when they cure. if the building moves the seal can be broken. Apparently Great Stuff gap sealer stays flexible so that it always seals.

I have used more Great Stuff in our pole barn-to-apartment build than I'd care to admit. After buying cans and cans of the stuff, I recently upgraded to one of their pro guns that uses their "pro" line of products. Just getting started, but I can tell you this - The gun is amazingly more precise and will result in a lot less overfilling - thus less waste. I'm really kicking myself that we didn't go that route sooner.... spent a lot of hours overfilling and then trimming in our rigid foam roof insulation project.

I have also noticed that the pro stuff cures about twice as quickly. As for the hardness - I really don't know how it compares to similar products... but hopefully it'll last.
