Hello all. I've been snooping around this site since last fall when we were in the process of buying a little cabin up the North Shore of Lake Superior. I finally decided to join in on the fun. I've done a lot of work on the building to make it more suitable to our needs with plenty more work to be done in the future.
Here's a peek at the the exterior.

The building is 12x18 with a 6 ft screen porch built in 2006. 6'' square cut white pine butt and pass construction on PT skids. Electricity but no water. I will add some photos of the before and after progress when I can figure out how to load more than one picture at a time.

I built another loft on the west side with a bridge connecting them. Swung the ladder around to the bridge. Built slat walls in lofts. Curtains for doors. Worked out wonderful. 4 twin beds. Useless space turned into 2 bedrooms. Loft beams

I am installing a 200 gallon pump tank for the new outdoor bathroom. Just got the email confirmation that the permit application was accepted. Hopefully get installation done in the next couple of weeks. The cabin had a Sunmar composting toilet inside when we bought it. I am removing that and going with an outhouse instead.

Plenty of work done on the privy facilities. Built it at home for the most part and hauled it up.

Loading it on and off the trailer and transporting it 3 hours was nerve wracking at times. We shingled it on site. Loaded

Love the outhouse/shower. Very nicely done. Love the North Shore too. WE spent the day in your neck of the woods back in September while we are up at our cabin on the Iron Range for Labor Day.

Gorgeous little cabin. I go winter camping down your way every January in Finland. We love hiking the Superior Hiking Trail around there too.

Took advantage of the Stove Swap program and slid in a new Jotul 602 under the stove pipe this weekend. A nice Italian pasta supper cooked on it was the perfect way to break it in.

I found the oven at a thrift store in Grand Marais. $4.00. Money well spent

Very nice find, we have the Colman portable version and it only works as a warming oven on the wood stove.
