Thinking of a tent. Four 4x4s, size of a queen bed. Vinyl windows all about. On a raised platform with a tin roof. Literally just a sleeping area open to surroundings 360 by Craigslist vinyl windows. Anyone ever tried it as a starting point?

I used a canvas tent for a summer. Loved it. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

What it sounds like you're building is more a lean-to. Should be great.
One thing. If you go with a tin roof ... it could get very loud when raining.

Thinking more like a stick built Rpod. Literally just a bed space with windows and a door. Tall enough to stand up at the door, but slanting back from there. Maybe 6x8 feet. Deflate the air bed during the day so there is space for a couple folding chairs. I'll experiment and if it takes shape will add photos. Just need a dry mosquito free zone to sleep during the land shaping phase.

Yurt, hmmm. Thought they were more expensive. I am thinking about a little room of windows with a bed in it. Geared mostly for tent weather sleeping. A place where nature literally surrounds you, very small footprint. Then, build the small cabin as I go.

Maybe they call these greenhouses, LOL.

I was actually going to suggest a greenhouse oddly enough. At least once you were done building your permanent structure, you'd have a greenhouse to use afterwards!

I think I'd build a gazebo or even a car port type structure and screen it in. You'll continue to get lots of use out of it later.

One of the first things I did was build an 8 x 8 deck to set up a tent. The ground has a tendency to be a little wet so this kept my wife high and dry. Happy wife....you know the rest.

This guy has a pretty good permanent set up for a tent camp. Watch his videos from time to time. I didn't realize how many video's he has on other things but if you scroll a little you will see them. Could give you a few ideas for yours.
