Stuck in an in between situation. Need to cut out a few roads each year but not enough to buy a tractor and bush hog. Got a 4 wheeler and curious about how well they hold up and the stress it puts on ATV?

I have a 1999 Honda Foreman ES with 22,000 km on it. For 4 years I pulled a swisher rough cut to cut 40 acres of pasture before getting the tractor and a flail mower. The quad has held up nicely, the swisher rough cut on the other hand was a maintenance nightmare.

Is it just grass you're cutting or are there samplings that need to get removed in the mix too? If you got samplings there are walk behind sickle bar cutters that weave a path of mass destruction. I've got a Jari and it makes things 2" and smaller gone with little issue.

It came in real handy cutting out land for pole barn and such. I even cut a few paths through dense woods and bramble. I find deer now use my paths some of which end at a tree stand.

Keep pets, children and beer drinking adults far away when in use.
