Is there a home computer printer that will not plug up, jam, give error messages or print jibberish 9/10 of the time you go to use it? I had one, it was nice, even did copies but I used it infrequently and most of the time it took an hour of farting around to get one page out of it. Don't need color.

I'm a big fan of Brother laser printers. The B&W versions are often wireless and include scanners.

I second the Brother units but I only buy the laser/toner type. Dirt cheap toner cartridges and they last forever. Doesn't plug up like inkjet do if you don't use them for a while. Color??? My kids can enjoy any shade of gray they want.

+1 to above comments.

Love my decade+ old Brother toner printer.

Assuming you aren't experiencing connectivity issues between computer and printer, and if you use it infrequently as stated, the problem could be caused by humidity. Before you go to print, or if you experience a jam take the paper out of the tray, fan it, turn it upside down and reverse the direction of feed.

When I experience a jam this always fixes it.

Also check your cable; might need replacing.

I'm not a fan of wireless or ink printers for occasional use.

Wow I didn't know you could get a laser for around a hundred bucks, they used to be a lot more. I'm in, just have to figure out which Brothers. Thanks guys!

I got a couple off Amazon as refurbished. Zero issues. I think the Brother printer give a lot of bang for the buck. Duplex printing starting at $64. I think one of the main differences in models is speed of printing.

I just email anything I need printing to Staples.
They have it for me on my next trip to town.
So far, this year, they are into me for $37usd.

I'm good with that.

and, hey, if they don't get it right, they do it again

I gave up on ink jets and have had a Brother MFC laser printer going on 3 years with zero problems and it scans and faxes, too!
