Roughly 2 acres, but the 9 acres of land in the back, and a sliver to the east of us, is unused dense forest that I think is regrowth from a timber cut a long time ago. I hope to buy that one day if the owner decides to sell and the price is right. Neither the owner nor her kids have set foot there in well over 10 to 15 years and any clearings have pretty much reverted to a wild state. I contact her last summer and she said she fully realized that they are letting it waste away and she was supposed to get back to me before Christmas about selling. I'm afraid she thinks its worth a lot more than it is. Also not having been there in so long I think she has an inaccurate idea of it. She was supposed to visit it last summer and I think she's in for a bit of a shock. It doesn't have a lot of usable space, but it would garantee privacy and would be great for trails and exploring.

I'm just gonna play it cool in the meantime.

27 acres in the Bluegrass region of KY, mostly mixed hardwoods on rolling hills. I've cleared about 1/2 acre and will eventually be clearing another acre or so to plant with native grasses and wildflowers

I have 10.3 acres on a mountain ridge in North Arkansas in the Boston mountains. I am about 200 yards north of the National Park boundary of the Buffalo National River. Where I have my land there is no need to pay for a perc test for your septic system if you have more than 10 acres of land. I am building a cabin and the only inspections are on the plumbing system and septic system before the water can be hooked up the the cabin. I have rural water and this is required so that no one screws up and causes contamination on the water system.

4.5.. Plenty for us. Don't think I'll be doing any livestock, or anything. Just a green house. So it's plenty of room. And to date, the only piece of property I have ever owned out right.

We started with 5 acres, but have recently increased to 10..
It's 40 mins from Allegany State Park in NY. very hilly area.. :) we're on side of one of the hills and down into a kinda wet swampy mess..
The beavers have damned up the creeks and turned us into a swamp..
We have 450' of paved road, lots of trees, and hardly any traffic.. tho there is a small Hamlet a few mins up the road, they seem to be quite quiet/clean..

all around me is unused land as well, most of it is owned by people in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain believe it or not.. so pretty much no chance in meeting those ppl..

No cabin yet, just crappy small trailer for now, but we used to do alot of tent-camping, over at ASP and some Ont Prov Pk's near home.. so being outside is a-o-k with us.. :)

5 acres at 4600 feet, right on the east side of the Cascade Mountains - right in the shadow of Crater Lake, actually. Aspens, pines and a spring-fed creek. Bliss. This forum is awesome! I can't stop reading everyone's stories.

10 wooded acres, which is fortunately surrounded by approx. 400 wooded acres in a conservation easement, which means the property can never be developed. I wish it had a lake, although it has three spring-fed ponds, trails and lots of wildlife.

Ann there is a lot to be said for having property adjacent to a conservation area or a park of some sort. My property is adjacent to the Buffalo National river national park border... or about 200 yards away from my property line. I have a view from my mountain ridge which will never be developed. I can walk 5 minutes down my road and be in the park on a cliff overlooking the river below. I can walk 10 minutes and be at the river. There are deer, turkey, eagles, osprey, otters, and elk. I love paddling and can paddle year round there.

3 acres of lodgepole pines and aspens. Just over the Wyoming border from Utah in the Uintah's. Lots of bark beetle deadwood but incredibly lovely none the less.

Whew. Limping in with the smallest total here. Southern Colorado, 1.3 acres, but it feels bigger. :)

He hopped in when the recession brought prices to our level. Still, it's a great spot.

210 acres North of Huntsville near Whitehall, Ontario, Canada. Two hills of hardwood and in the middle a Black Spruce Bog and stream. The surroundings change from ridge top to valley low land. A nice place to explore.

Our family has 11.86 acres in Erie county. I call it 12. The lot is pie shaped. My family was going to build on it but the road frontage is 187 ft. you need 200 to build a house.

Front 2 acres cleared with a few trees. Middle 6 acres wet land. Back 4 acres all mature pines. There is a creek that runs through the property.

Its our families little 'slice' of paradise. We are city dwellers and only need to drive 20 minutes to get to our retreat. Saves gas money for more important things like...BEER!
