Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum. I just stumbled across the forum this morning. I am an architect in southwest MO. and recently started a company designing and building tiny cabins.
I am hoping to add a little to this forum and learn much from others here.

Talk to you more soon,
Pete

Hello all,
I have been designing custom homes for many years and have just recently gotten into tiny home designs. My partner has been a custom home builder. Betweens us we have more than 50 years experience. At this point we have not built any tiny cabins. Feel free to visit my website http://www.ozarkstinycabins.com

As far as this forum goes, I am here to learn as much as contribute.

P.S.
I plan on adding a few new plans to the website over the weekend.

Hi Pete

{...}

Ummm your designs aren't all that tiny. Try 8x8 or like ours 8x12 with only 70 odd ft of living area (2x6 walls for insulation). No loft. I guess we, like some others, are on the "small" end of the small cabin forum.

Good luck with your endeavor.

I had to clean some replies from this thread because they went way off-topic.
C'mon people - hijacking threads is not nice - it takes away value of the forum. This suppose to be Pete's thread on small cabin designs...
Please be considerate and stay on topic in the future.
Everyone is welcome to use "Off-Topic" section for unrelated discussions. (Have to admit I'm enjoying reading those posts as well - what an interesting group of people we have here!).

Welcome to the Small Cabin Forum, Pete.
Waiting for your further posts.

bugs, if you click on the link at the top of his page that says "prefab cabins" and "cabin plans - SM" you will see the small designs. The Foxcreek Plan is 376 sq. ft. and the Escape plan is 8' X 16'.

Pete: Your designs are really nice. Have you ever thought of using pocket doors for some of the interior rooms (bedrooms, bathrooms)? We have a small place and have found that pocket doors are a great way to save space.

Hello all,
You haven't skeered me off yet. I have been overwhelmed with the response to the responses to my post. Thanks for all the warm welcomes... and the sarcastic comments, some were pretty funny.

I guess "tiny" is a relative term, when you are used to designing large custom homes designing anything under 2,000 s.f. would be considered tiny. I am always working on new designs, I'll have to try my hand at some "small tiny" cabins.

Cabingal3- The Farm is still in existence. It's change from it's original form, but it's there. As a matter of fact there has been a type of resurgence in resent years. Some of the second generation Farmies (kids who grew up on the Farm) have been moving back. By the way, I think they still print the original cookbook http://www.thefarmcommunity.com/

Thanks Hattie,
I will look into the bugs.

As far as the pocket door. I have never been a big fan of them, but I do see them as a good space saver.

Hi Pete: "bugs" was referring to a forum member named "bugs"...You don't have any bugs or glitches on your website. Sorry for the confusion. *S*

It would be great if you could post some of your projects as you get going. I think the biggest thing you will see on this forum is that the folks are mostly do-it-yourself types and most are on a tight budget (including me!). Any ideas you have in keeping with that theme will be more than welcome.

Hey Pete
Glad to see you're a good sport.

Very interested in your Frontier plan, but would like to know what you get for the shell.
Is a material list in the offing?
Is roofing included?

Welcom Pete! I have two small cabins in the Sierra Nevadas :) One is 600 sq. feet and the other is just over two...both one room with a sleeping loft. I look forward to ideas that are shared on this site and look forward to seeing your creative designs as well! :)
