Hello All!

My name is Ashley, I'm a casting producer at Sharp Entertainment. Were Casting for a reality show that will air on National Geographic, and we are looking for "off the grid" families for the show that are moving or perhaps have recently moved off the grid.

We are seeking families that are moving off the grid or seriously considering doing so.

Families should have children between ages 10-18 (at least one) and be in the process of or SERIOUSLY considering moving off the grid, to an island, or other remote areas of land (anywhere in the world). We want to capture the transition that the families experience in leaving the "rat race" to live "off the grid."

This is also a PAID opportunity.

If this sounds like someone you know please reach out ASAP as we are casting this show now! If you have questions, feel free to reach out!

Families can apply here: offgridfamilyliving@gmail.com

Funny,

you can be off grid and still part of the Rat-Race!

Not like living OTG means sewing all your own clothes or growing all your food.

"off the grid" means different things to different people. I'm OTG, as in no power company grid connection. But I have a DSL line for internet. I have no other cables or pipes coming in, but the propane truck calls once in a while; mostly use that for cooking. I collect rainwater; have a well but don't use it for myself anymore. I grab what little TV I watch with an antenna or stream a few things once in a while. I mostly left the rat race when I sorta retired, but it's only a 20-minute drive to a town with stores, etc. Works for me.

Never sewed clothes. Used to grow a lot of food, not so much anymore unless you count the bean and lentil fields that I grow under contract.
