The low lives of the sport...those are the ones people remember.
You could have been real savage and told him this 1 week prior to opening day...just enough time for him to remove all his things from the property.

Right, 'never had any time to do what he agreed to, but after he received notice, was out there that same day to move the feeder and camera. Just a matter of priorities?

Too bad this didn’t work out for all. Most hunters are very respectful. I am one of those folks who is drawn to the outdoors. Not just hunting, everything outdoors. Identifying plants and their uses including medicinal. I’m remote so in emergencies no help. Understanding the historical uses of herbal medicines And it’s fascinating to me.
Stand hunting generally allows for better shot placement for clean kills. Allows the hunters to carefully examine the animals they harvest. In game management areas allowing for much more active management. As stated. Hunters are true conservationists. And pay for the management of wildlife for all users.
Folks who use the , you can go by prime steak instead of hunting argument should probably not be hunting. It’s a whole lot more than that. I just spent a week with our son hunting moose. And teaching him how to take care of the entire environment around him. From ripping out beaver dams and their effects on spawning salmon. To different types of calls. And when , why to use them. Calling in his first moose and helping him harvest it. For several families. He, and I, started this hunt many years ago. He has spent many hours researching and preparing. Harvesting our food and understanding the out of doors invokes a feeling in me the I’m proud to pass on. And now my beautiful wife and me are having coffee at our cabin. Going canoeing later . Now I’m bragging.
I will get off my soap box. Our differences is our strength! And it seems wrong, to me, when folks say . I like hunting but only if you do it my way.
Get out. Enjoy the outdoors.

It's unfortunate you had issues with the guys you let hunt on your land.
Since I no longer hunt, and my son now has his own place, I have no issues letting the guys hunt our property that I have given permission to the last couple of years.
I personally hope they get every deer out there. I'm not exactly a deer hater, per say, but regeneration of the woods in our area is next to impossible with the deer browse pressure. The less we have, the better, as I like to grow trees. I also know they're never going to get them all because they breed like rabbits.
It's funny, cause if you ask the hunters, there's never enough deer. However, if you look at the tree seedlings after a winter, they conveniently never grow higher than the snow height. One deer browses a crapload of seedlings. Of course, they leave the undesirable trees alone, just get the cherries, maples, and oaks.
We do like venison (and I get enough of it from my son), but just getting rid of some deer is payment enough for me.
