I planned to buy that one a few years ago, but since I installed mine inside, I went with the vent free one made by excel (bought on ebay also). It has a low oxygen sensor that automatically shuts the unit down. Something to consider if you are installing indoors.
I still keep the window opened a bit since it gives off carbon monoxide though.

Mine just came in the mail a couple of days ago. I was going to try it out with the RV pump this weekend but I got hijacked by my grandkids. Hopefully I'll have a chance to test it next weekend. I'll post the results when I do.

I also bought and installed, indoors, a made-in-china on demand heater. Also ventless, it usually only runs for a minute at a time, so less concern with carbon monoxide. Mine also will turn off if the oxygen level drops. I paid around $200 at a flea market, new, in the box, and it works very well. We do use it for the tub, but with a 25 psi pump and a few turns in the plumbing, the pressure at the faucet is minimal. We prefer to shower, but still use it to have a bath on occasion.

I also bought a vent free tankless heater, would like to know what you guys used for a regulator off the propane tank? It will be a dedicated shower system only. Thank you..............CV

Yes, that was my question as well when I first bought mine. I use a standard regulator for a bbq grill. Do not use it without a regulator.

Ours connects directly to 20 lb. tank, I'm thinking the regulator must be in the water heater itself. I haven't opened it to look, but I did follow directions for use. I can't think of the brand we ended up with but we are extremely please with it's operation, it will heat water until either the water or the gas runs out. The heater is the second best purchase we made for our place, the first was the land (in terms of enjoyment). Our cistern keeps the water out of the sun and even on 90 + degree days the water is cold to shower in, this heater has made showers very, very enjoyable. Our set up is cistern to RV pump, pump to accumulator to heater and shower head. 12 volt.

I guess ill have to see if the heater has its own regulator, had not thought about a accumulator though, mgc did it boost the pressure enough to notice and what type did you use?

I guess i should have added that the plan im going to use is this........rv water tank to 12v 1.8gpm rv water pump to heater, then to shower head. Im not looking for superior pressure, but enough to at least feel like i took a shower.

cabinfever, the accumulator goes between the pump and the heater, it's there so the pump won't run all the time. Although when you take a shower it pretty much stays on, but when you turn off the shower, the pump will build pressure then shut off. Really a neat deal, we stole the idea from RV plumbing systems and we got our at an RV supplier, I think about $30.00.

Went with the newer style 12v pump thats designed where a accumulator is not needed, vent free heater works great, nice hot water, steady stream. Definitly the way to go.....CF

We have that same unit! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It will come with the regulator that you need and all the bits and bobs for water connections. Turn on the water to the unit and flip the switch. It uses 2 D cell batteries so there is no need for electricity. Make sure that you have enough water pressure and then you are good to go. We hooked into a rain shower (pic below) that is made for the outdoors.
It is great for hot showers and we love it!!

Awesome!!!nicalisa.That's what I want to hear. Does it take a few minute to heat up?Or is it pretty quick to put out warm water?In order to sell this idea of a cabin to my girlfriend,I had to promise her hot water and a shower/bathtub.That's the only thing she really,really want's.I joke with her that the creek is only 100 feet away so wash up fast and run back to the warmth of the cabin befor you freeze to death!lol.Actually the pleasure of a warm shower/bath sounds wonderful to me but I still like to joke about it.

After you turn it on you will get consistent hot water in less than 15 or so seconds. If your water pressure varies however the heat will vary. What we did was mount the unit in an easy access area behind the shower stall. We then turn on the water at the main source to our shower shelter, and turn on the unit. By regulating the pressure and heat, you can always change it if your pressure increases or decreases from the source.
It gets really hot when you have the heat all the way up and it feels so good after a day of paneling, painting, staining, or just hanging out at the beach:) We are enclosing our shower area by cutting and retrofitting some cedar fence panels, tiling the floor and putting our temp porta-potty in a separate building next door to the shower.....let me tell you it is going to be pure luxury after this season of building....ok, maybe not luxury in a 5 star sort of way, but look around our shower at all of the green trees and bushes....that beats anything!

:) fence panels are a great answer to a simple shelter. (plus, we can get them cheaper in the fraser valley than it would take for us to build them by half the cost....in BC you learn to really price out your materials!!)
I will post a pic when we are done...likely near to Sept. as we have the inside paneling to do with our great deal on wood paneling:) before we finish the shower walls....I wish our offspring were older so we had an extra pair or two of hands, but I don't want to wish forward our life as I wish they would be little forever.
