I would like to know if anyone knows if I can move my Amish built cabin from Indiana to Hawaii. It is roughly 10 ft wide with a fold-up 4 ft wide porch and is 42 ft long. Thank you very much for any help have a good day

? You wouldn't even want to ship the raw unassembled materials from Indiana to Hawaii, let alone a built cabin. Must be joking, no?

You could probably build 2 or 3 new ones for the cost to ship

I'm thinking pontoons and an outboard motor...

Sure you can. Snap a picture and send a postcard... Or just drop it in the ocean. It is wood so should float. Should eventually make it to Hawaii

Hey if you have enough money, anything is possible. But financially speaking there is no way it's even remotely practical.

Prob the easiest way is to burn it, catch the smoke, gather the nails and stuff it all on your luggage.

I’ve been to Hawaii quite a few times. I looked into having a small place there.
The Big Island is the most economical place to do that. Look into buying a unpermitted cabin. There are tons of risks, that’s why they are not as expensive. Reason being the volcanos and VOG and many other issues. You can do the research as I did years ago.

Oahu, Maui, The Big Island and Kauai have a Lowe’s and or a Home Depot. You could build it yourself with materials from these stores. IDK anything about building there. I suppose the materials you would choose would depend on if you are going to build on the wet side or dry side of the island.

Maybe they ship the Amish guys over there to build it.

The Bigg Island is where I'm looking I have found 1 acre lots as cheap as $4000 just one but a few for $5000-$7000 I thought that wasn't bad. This is also the reason I was asking about moving my cabin might be cheaper to sell it and get a new one there or a mod. I'm disabled couldn't build it myself but I would help with what I could. Thank you all again. Which is the dry side and which is the wet one.🙃 really need to get the covid 19 to end

The Kona side is the dry side, Hilo side (East) side is the wet side. We stayed a month in Sept a bit south of Hilo. Fantastic country, but lots of new Lava fields. Hundreds of people lost their homes to what is now a black lava field for miles. Be sure the land your looking at isn't just new lava. Won't make for much of a property for a few decades, and I'm sure its selling cheap.

Offer to send the Amish crew to Hawaii in exchange for building a small beach house on site.

Everyone wins.
