I can't identify this insect that is boring into my logs. It's not a carpenter bee. It doesn't look like the pictures of carpenter ants. It looks like a really small hornet or yellow jacket and flies. It crawls into a very small hole in the log. What the heck is this thing? I already have plans to use borate. Thanks.

I'll try to get another picture. It's very small and can fit into the hole that I'm pointing at. It's silent when flying.
