I framed a large shelf using a ledger anchored to the concrete wall inside my shop. Didn't have any PT lumber, figured I'd get 10 years out of it anyway. I don't have the tops screwed down yet, I could loosen the anchor bolts and slide something in the gap. Roofing paper, metal flashing? Would it help, or is it even worth worrying about?

I doubt there is any real danger unless you can see or feel moisture on the concrete, or have mold forming on the wall.

Thanks ICC. I'm still getting the place fully enclosed and weatherproof, guess I'll let it go this year and see. A friend is always telling me that concrete gives off moisture even indoors but I have yet to really notice any.

Sounds good. I like that look also and was going to have a free standing type of shelf made of live edge birch and 3/4” dowels into wall studs. With no obvious support brackets. So my beautiful wife can use it for family pictures.
How’s the movies coming along ?

There was a problem with the drive in movies I didn't foresee.. it's not getting dark enough until 9:30 pm now! So the movie crowd and I agreed best to save it until the days shorten or daylight saving time ends this fall.

We're old folks, in bed by 8. Maybe I should think about a 4am morning showing.. Anyway it's ready for use.

Thanks for asking Ak

Hey Paulz, what about sticking a strip of asphalt shingle in between?
