One company I see mentioned on many building sites for making really superior tools is Festool. Their saw guides are among the best made but they have lots of other offerings as well.

One great product designed to be used around window and door openings during the install is a Thermalbuck.
When adding exterior insulation to a building the window typically has to be pulled out away from the wall sheathing and the wooden window buck that is usually used to do this is the weak link in the buildings thermal envelope. This product solves any thermal bridging issues that arise from using a wooden buck.

One thing that is guaranteed to happen during your cabin build is......it's going to rain before you finish drying in the cabin. And that means wet floors which can also mean swollen plywood or OSB edges and then it's a lot of sanding to relevel the floor.
Instead, I would use Advantech 1 1/8" thick subflooring.

It can get soaked and it won't swell or delaminate. Use their subfloor adhesive as well to make sure that your floor system doesn't squeak.

And what do you do when it comes time to install exterior lighting? Lots of people just mount the fixture over the lap siding and screw through into the sheathing. This leaves gaps along the edge of the fixture where water and insects can enter the wall.
A better choice is to use a mounting block.

When attaching a rafter or truss to the top plate the old method was to use a hurricane clip. Now Simpson Strong Ties has improved that connection with their Quik Stik. This allows you to drive a structural screw through the top plates into the rafter or truss much faster (and stronger).

This is an extremely informative video from a structural engineer in Australia that explains the problems and solutions regarding the use of helical piles, or screw piers. One of the biggest problems is how to design around lateral movement of the metal post.

BTW, a "waffle slab" is usually a concrete slab with a series of thickened concrete beams underneath but it can also be a series or raised wooden beams supporting a wooden floor like those used in a typical cabin up on piers.
