I've been reading this forum and think that it's a great place to share ideas and learn. My wife and I own property on a lake here in Oregon. We had our 22 ft. 5th wheel parked there year round but alas that has taken it's toll. It is now falling apart due to moisture and mold. We are planning on building a cabin. I'm going to salvage everything I can from the RV and use them in the cabin. Items like propane fridge, furnace and stove. Also going to use 12 volt lighting and water system. We have no power, well or septic there. We have been bringing in water, charging rv batteries and taking out our portable dump so far. We are going to build a pier and post building. We might use the solar system I read about in here. I'm trying to locate a used incinerator toilet. We are also thinking of installing a 200 gallon rain barrel for the rain gutters and hook up the 12 volt water pump to it. Attached is the floorplan that we are considering using, but with a little tweaking.

I live most of the year in our 20X21' cabin. It is compact but has everything we need to be comfortable. [url=

The downstairs is great room style with two small bedrooms (one used for storage and one for storing guests). What I love is our loft bedroom. There's plenty of room for a king bed (two twins pushed together) and storage along the sides. We position our bed so that my husband can stand on his side without ducking. Under the stairs is our propane fridge. No wasted space.
We use a wood stove for heat. In a cabin your size it would do the trick. I love sitting in front of the fire on a long winter night. - Margy

Ah, the Northbay from townandcountryplans.com. I built their "Whitehorse" model.
