We're close but in the mean time we are starting to practice the lifestyle here on the farm. For those off gridder's that are there now, what would you have done different if given the chance to do it over?

We are not off-grid yet but we are working towards living off-grid spring/summer/fall. I'm very interested in do's/don'ts from those with experience. There is a lot to be gleaned from the many posts but some important highlights or even revealing subtle nuances of making the jump would be great. Anyone have some stories to tell?
