Hi,
I'm thinking of buying land and trying to build a small cabin (maybe a kit cabin 150-200 sq ft) as a residence in Nevada County. I've been trying to determine what building code restriction might prevent this.
I know there are a 70 sq ft per room requierment and lots of electrical and other requirements. Codes in total are hard to sort through so if anyone has experiences with this, I would be grateful.

Talk to the local building department. That will more likely yield correct information than many other sources.

If theres no doors does it make it a room? Do they expect your bathroom to be at least 8x8 too?
