Thanks, it was fun building it! This is my first cabin I built and I modified the plans a whole bunch!! The roof designs sure used up a lot of wood and trim to do compaired to a regular roof! I have been in construction for the last 38 years but as a electrician. I wanted to see if I could build one so I jumped right in. 30 days of long hours on the job and a test of my generator for sure. That ships ladder took almost $300.00 of wood to build. The deck and porch planks were more that all the plywood on the building!! I will build another one next year during the sping for something to do. I am painting my home now to match the cabin cause the wife liked it so much. I live on 40 acres in the middle of no/where so it is like being at the cabin thaty is why I am selling this one. Here is a picture of my spred.

I wouldn't call that the middle of nowhere, I'd call that the middle of somewhere incredibly beautiful!
Your cabin looks great. I have an identical ladder going up to my loft in my cabin and toyed with the idea of putting on a railing. Your pics inspire me to do just that.

Thanks!
The railing works great, it looks like it is not far up from the steps but it is 32" from a step measured up from level. When you go up them the railing is right where it should be. The black spots are plactic plugs covering the bolts that hold the posts on. This way if they need to be tighten you just pop out the plug to access the bolts. Mark
