My girlfriend and I started work on our property in the unincorporated territory in Maine in April of this year. We spent the last two weekends framing, with the roof going on this weekend.

We have the same size cabin 16x24. It's a fun size and your building looks great so far! What type of woodstove will you be using?

Very beautiful cabin! Your cabin reminds me of my own 16x24. I am still working on it as we speak. There's something so beautiful about the framing part of the building process...The beauty of the structure. Somehow, once the framing structure is covered up....that beauty disappeared. By then...you don't really care anymore, you just wanted to get it done so you can ENJOY it! HAHA.

I have a Vermont Castings Vigilant that I'm going to try. I'm worried it might be a little overkill! We can always open a window!

Overkill is better than not enough. My 16x24 has a Jotul 602 and it is not enough. Or rather it is enough only if you feed it multiple times every night in cold weather.
