With everything wireless nowadays, does anybody know if such a thing as a wireless outdoor TV antenna exists? Like the antenna is outside and transmits the signal without a co-ax cable inside to a receiver or the actual TV? I did a search on Amazon but didn't find (yet) what I'm looking for.

Or, what about a free internet steaming service that essentially accomplishes the same thing? There's so much out there for streaming that I wouldn't really know where to begin.

I'm really just trying to avoid drilling a hole in the wall, or removing a screen and running a co-ax cable through a (slightly) open window. I doubt I can use an indoor antenna because the siding and roof are metal, and that appears to kill my cell phone reception, so I'm concluding it'll do the same to an indoor antenna. Although most of the internet claims a metal roof and siding won't impact reception, I can verify that it does.....

Well, further searching turned up a ribbon-like co-ax connector that you can shut a window on. Problem solved!

One option is to use a wireless HDMI extender. This device allows you to transmit the HDMI signal from your outdoor antenna to your TV wirelessly. This means that you only need to run one cable from your antenna to the extender, and then you can place the extender anywhere in your home.

We do, and it is more dismal as time goes ; I have gone off cold turkey a few times..... (spoken like a true addict, hey).
If my old antenna fails I have little reason to replace it other than I Have A Spare!
Note to self: Old dumb guy should stay off roof!

Ive been using OTA for years. For free.

Your best bet is to upgrade your phone plan to 60+gigs monthly . Then hotspot to your devices. If you watch movies all night on the lowest resolution you'll only burn through 1 gig / nightly.

Yes, there comes a time....

I used to have a 30 foot pipe mast for an antenna at the cabin. It was a tilt up affair attached to the side of the pole barn. The wildfire caused it to collapse and it was destroyed. Looking for a replacement I tried something new. An amplified exterior wall mounted antenna.

This one

It works better than the old mast mounted antenna. And no need for a ladder or roof crawling.

Yep. It's most of what we watch. Free too.

Well, I ended up buying a Roku TV and using the app to watch/stream several free TV channels and movies. No antenna needed, just my cell phone hotspot. I may have used up most of my hotspot data allotment in one night, but it's good to know I don't need an antenna, at least not right now or anytime soon.
