Its an overcast nasty weekend.. but nice sitting by the fire! These are the moments I'm glad I built it.

What's your plan for the exterior?

I pushed really hard to completely finish the exterior by the end of october. I'm mostly done becids some cawlking. The screen for the porch will have to wait.

As long as we burn a really hot fire it will self clean. However, once we damper it down, yup black glass!

Sigh.. I had the same plan and just didn't get to it. Too many projects. I have gone back and forth over what to do and I still really don't have an answer. I would love to do fiber cement, but its so heavy and expensive that I just can't justify it.

At this point, it will either be metal, or standard vinyl (my least favorite option). Its job number one for the spring!

I just finished the exterior on Nov 2 . We had a few snows and it was a race against winter.

Like you I struggled to decide on what to use on the exterior . Couldn't use Vinyl siding because heat sources would melt it . Didn't want metal because it affects reception and signal strength . So it was either premium siding or stone . The cost of premium siding is almost as much as stone so the entire building is covered in stone from top to bottom. Always wanted a castle since I was a kid , so it wasn't a hard choice .

Dreary here too, rain passing through.

Been working on reviving a fun project from a couple years ago: Paul’s Drive In! I set this up and showed drive in movies to 8-10 carloads of friends, great times. But all the stuff got stowed away, lost…

So now I have the projector tested, and found the FM broadcaster that plays the sound on the car radio, screens about ready to hoist back up.

Get the popcorn ready!

That is super cool. The wife and I were just talking about Drive-ins. Around here, the last one closed in like 1998. Sad days..

I hope you have some great times!

Theres still a drive in open here and one that is US forest serviced owned next to the FDR estate. They are looking for a contractor to lease/run it.

Warm to Cold

40 degree difference between inside the cabin and outside when I took my morning pee today. Even the dog stayed in.

Probably small potatoes for you icebergs but the wood stove is working overtime, and so am I…

I'll say one thing about how to stay warm...do BURPERS for a minute or two and the blood will flow everywhere to warm you up.
