Well, I decided about a month ago to do a real off grid solar system for my cabin. And after all the research, I started purchasing from Renogy.
Has anyone here encountered bad experiences with this company? I am having a nightmare trying to find the status of parts of the order. Tracking numbers do not work, and then they remove the tracking numbers from your order, etc.
I ordered a battery about 11-12 days ago. The tracking number only says label created, 5 days ago, a guy on the end of the phone said it was packaged in the warehouse ready for shipping. Then a couple of days ago, the shipping tracking number disappears from my order. Now they tell me they are doing a cancel on my order and making another order. OK, its been almost two weeks and this bunch is giving me a huge run around. They look like a legit company, am I being scammed? The other order with the controller had a set of solar cables that did not ship and the run around continues with that ticket. If I get my money back, I will never order again from this bunch.

Renogy can really do marketing well, sadly, that's it. If you can, cancel the order and do it properly and probably for less... or get more for the equal spend.

I helped someone recently buy some Renogy 48V heated LiFePO4. There was no issues with shipping and the product arrived on time. So far they have been performing better than expected.

If this was me with any product and I was able to cancel it I would. Unless it was a very good deal and I didnt expect warrenty or any type of support.
I generaly don't use warrentys. I even just repaired my 117hr 10 month old champion generator that wasn't very cheap.

Yes, i had an order in for about $2500 and they only delivered 1/2 of it and most of it was wrong. After fighting with them for 2 weeks I just made them take it all back and cancel order.
I ended up just buying items on Amazon from different places- mostly Victron- and came out with better items and better price.

Well, the orders all final arrived. one without the tracking number working and Renogy never acknowledged that it had been shipped. I am still working on getting everything together and turning on the system. I am a do it yourselfer but I am a long way from being an electrician

Many who are far from an electrician have successfully built diy systems (me included) and a couple electricians I have talked with knew pretty much nothing about solar, or didnt want to talk to me about it.....
Well, ya got yerself a starter set, we all started somewhere. Since its all from Ren maybe it hooks together decently.
Rather than get overwhelmed by the 'whole system'
I suggest you make a simple test system, maybe a sturdy (maybe 2x4 lumber) A frame for a panel or two, figure if you are going to run parallel or series to the solar charge control and hook to the battery. You may have to configure the ssc for the lithium battery.
Did you get an inverter from boost 12v to 120vac? Hope it is a Pure Sine Wave, lots of stuff doesnt run well on the cheaper Modified Sine Wave models.
That is pretty much it for the main components, the 'array' turns sunlight into electricity, sends to the scc to regulate it for the battery bank which is then used on battery voltage stuff or inverted to 120vac for normal household stuff.
The wires and fusing between those is another discussion.
So are inverters, so if you have one tell us, the Watts capacity is critical, if not WAIT.
