Anyone have any info on this, I want a grass that will feel like thick carpet under my bare feet. Something that is comfortable. Our yard will be like a living space for us so its comfort level is important. I dont care how often I have to mow it.
Any brands & type that fits the bill ?

What about Kentucky blue grass? It is soft underfoot and does well in the sun and the shade.

I am looking for something different than typical lawn grass to seed at our cabin.
I've heard clover is a good choice - vary hardy, low maintenance and does not need to be mowed.

I like that idea cabinBuilder.. so I googled "clover seeded lawn" and some of the images were scary.
I guess some clover can get pretty tall and weed like ?. I think for me it would be nice to edge off some areas for clover to add a detailed look to the yard.
edit:
I may have been looking at clover yards that werent properly seeded though.. this one looks pretty good and I think it has grass mixed in

I've got a "lawn" space that has an average of ~15% incline, is ~40% partial sun and 60% full shade. I'm currently thinking about sheep's fescue and white dutch clover, spread and then covered with a bit of straw. I don't want to have a ton of effort into this ground cover and I don't particularly care if it is lush, would just be nice to have some green to walk on, not just hard stony soil, and to reduce the amount of run-off. So, anyone try out the dutch clover yet?

We used a mixture of clover and grass called a conservation mix. No watering or fertilizing and less mowing than a traditional lawn.
