FINALLY,first picture is a 13 watt,12 volt CFL that gives you the equivellent of a 60 watt light bulb.Wired up to a standard 120 volt light fixture.Second picture is my 120 volt microwave and toaster along side of my 12 volt water pump and propane frig. That light is a 12 volt,72 LED light bulb, very bright.3rd picture is my bathroom. The Eccotemp L5 ,hooked up to my bathtub and sink(works great, hot water in 3 seconds),and last my 120 volt ,32 inch LED TV and sterio. You see,I live just as comfortably off grid as anyone living on the grid, only difference is I make my own 120 volt with my little Honda 2000 instead of buying it from the grid. It's just soooo cool.No morgage payment,no electric bill. That's money in my pocket to keep investing in this place.

Hey Rayyy, we are thinking about going with the Eccotemp but have read that it really needs to be placed outdoors due to ventilation.

Yours is, however, the second example of an indoor application I have seen.

The outdoor mounting thing concerned me due to problems with freezing weather.

Can you tell me what allowances you are making for having it mounted indoors?

Thanks...

I have nothing to really input here except I like the light fixtures. I haven't seen any like that in the stores around here.

Mind if I ask where you got them?

MJW,if you have a vent free style gas heater of any kind(propane, natural gas, kerosene) and any size, your running it for hours on end making fumes and moisture right in the room. They are far more hazardus than that little 11000 btu burner in that Eccotemp running for just a few minuits.I have a fresh air supply in the bathroom.CO monitor, too.
Skyl,my light fixtures came from Lowes.I like the old punch tin, rustic lantern look.

True, and the hot shower itself puts 1,000 times more moisture in the room. But the moisture does exclude some of the air, with the eccotemp inside the room the CO could reach a higher level. Past summer, the showers have been wide open. In the winter, the doors will be closed. I wonder about that a little when my girls "quick shower" is 20 minutes. And sometimes i'm inclined to take a longer shower too. Seems like shower times should be short if the room is closed up.

Tisz true, you need to assure yourself that you have got some source of fresh air coming into the bathroom. An eccotemp l5 will keep up just find with a 20 minuit shower,as long as youv'e got the supply of water.
