I'm not finished but thought I would post a picture. It is a good hobby for me when I have time.

A few month's in the winter and always seems like the month of July I get a little down. I can't just do nothing and all my things I like to do are over for the year. Not done yet but thought I would post one more for the heck of it.

Here is a few more I have done. As soon as this cold spell ends I'm putting away the knives and headed for the hills for some outdoor fun.

Those are really great.

How about some pics of the antlers in the background?

Neb

That is super great.

Is it all with a knife and then you sand it or do you have a rotary carving setup? I have the latter but all I seem to carve up is my hands. Thankfully I have gloves on or I wouldn't be typing this!!

No I don't sell them but I have many people that want to buy them. I get asked that often. What I do though is give them to charity organizations so they can raffle or silent auction them. I don't want to make it a job but make it fun. It is funny though I could of sold a lot of them.

I don't use a rotary setup but use knife's, small gouges and some home made tools to remove wood. I do it the old fashion way.

Hey Rayyy. I'd say give it a shot, you've gotta start somewhere, maybe todays the day to start hacking a face out of an old piece of pine. Just keep your thumbs out of the way!

I want to try carving a green man out of some old junky cedar logs one day, I'll post it up here if it goes well.

Nice work neb!

Just old river bottom cottonwood I pick up. Nothing special just older wood that has been down for years.

turkeyhunter
Yep we could do some horse trading! LOL Don't give me the "fire water" till the job is done right! LOL

that is correct .....because you would need a box of band-aids...after a little "fire water" and a couple sharp knives...LOL
