As a new member to small cabin forum, just wanted to share a few pictures of our cabin and property located in NE Vermont. This forum is great as it allows exploring so many diverse locations and experiences.
Our initial building effort started July of last year and ended/"buttoned up" for a long winter in early November. My brother and I purchased this 88 acre tract in 2003 that was logged over approximately 13 years ago. Our goal was to get the shell of a cabin up in 2012; this would allow enjoyment of the property and its solitude away from the nonsense. "Finishing" touches will come later as time, circumstances and money allows.
I personally wanted to complete a porch for my dog (and Us) as he was getting along in years as are we. When young, he was dubbed "porch dog" by my brother. He lived up to the name.
2013 Priorities are:
heat/chimney build
beds
shower/water
picture window or equivalent
cord wood sawing to increase supply
brush hogging
Can't wait for spring!
