That is one beautiful tree. I guess time will tell if it makes it or not. I hope so. Nothing more beautiful than an oak!!!

I hope it survives but regardless, I have to give credit to the city for making the decision (and spending the money) to try. Most places would just cut it down if in the way of a new road.

I had to bookmark that story. Thanks for sharing. We have a 300 year old white oak on our property and we just pray it stays healthy.
A tree that size might take years to show signs of stress so I hope their tree and ours does okay (we didn't move our tree, but we had to drive around it and cut 20ft away for utilities).
This reminds me of a tree we saw being moved in Switzerland. It was an old growth magnolia and we said in the States that would have been bulldozed...but now this story gives hope!!
