Hello Everyone,
I'm new here and this site is great! We inherited a cabin that my wife's Grandfather built back in the late 60's. It's a very solid structure that needs some major TLC. Anyway, the ceiling in the kitchen is falling down and I'd like to replace it. It's made from 12X12 tiles and I'm afraid they are made from asbestos. I can't afford to hire someone to do the removal. What would be the best way to do this job myself?

They make hazmat suits that aren't that exspensive. we use them where I work if we run into asbestos. They consist of a light weight body covering with hoody and mask, and shoe covering. You could get by with a mask or resperater. The main thing is to keep it out of your lungs.

you could take a small sample to have it tested...then proceed accordingly. minimum...tyvek painters suit, gloves, (tape cuffs) and a decent respirator
