In the final stages of finishing a 12x16 "shed" and was looking for something beefier for door security when gone. Ive found what to be perfect except I cant find anyone who makes it in the US. Anyone seen this here in the states for purchase or any other ideas to secure and lock a 5 and half foot double door while gone?

If you don't weld any welding shop can make one. Try an ornamental iron place... security bars for windows... they can make something. But that won't stop a determined thief or one with a chain saw. Or someone with a battery powered grinder / cut off saw. An ordinary lock will keep out the honest and the somply curious. Theives can do whatever they want especially in remote areas.

YEAH! That's what I was thinking too but for the inside (door opens in). I was going to have one made from a welding shop to look period correct for our cabin. Cool idea! They can kick all they want.....and then go in through the window

or take a saw to the siding.

does a nice metal bar say? hey. i'm expensive. there must be some good stuff in here.

a 2x4 with a hinge and a lock hasp might achieve the same goal. for less than 10 bucks. keep out the curious if not the nefarious.

I had the biggest problem with vandalism and theft when I used exterior locks.
An exterior lock is an invitation to trouble because it's obvious and definitive proof that there's nobody inside.

Deadbolts, solar landscape lights (or the like) in the windows, a solar radio playing 24/7 and "Hidden Camera" signs are what's worked best for me.

It is difficult to make any structure burglar proof, but if one's place is highly burglar resistant it might convince them to spend their time elsewhere.

I like RidgeRunner's suggestions. In addition, a solar motion detector light can surprise a nighttime burglar, albeit most burglaries are daytime events. Also it is known that some people hide game cameras in birdhouses. I buy every cheap garage-sale birdhouse I can find and am in process of surrounding my cabin with them.

Our place is out of the way but off a county road. We have a lock on the door, but easy to defeat. Have curtains on the windows so you cant see in. The privy also has a lock but the clasp is such that you can easily take the screws out. I don't want it to secure as that just advertises.

My neighbour used to keep his front gate open when he wasn't at his place and closed when he was there. Kept the bad guys guessing!
