Great little forum you have here, lots of good info
I'm working on closing a deal on 27 acres of land, if it all works out I'll be working on my own little cabin this time next year. Wish me luck!

Thanks Mike.
I'd call it rolling woodlands if I was a real estate agent. There's an overgrown bulldozer path from about 10 or 15 years back and a ton of fire ants to deal with. Not the best piece of property but it's close to the city while being well out of the neighbors sight and the price is right for the area.

The bank has been making me crazy but the landowner has gone above and beyond the call to help things along. I'm tired of it all and just want an answer so I can move forward or move on

don't you just love banks? through poor decision making they run out of money then use our tax dollars to bail there sorry asses out and when we need to barrow a few bucks we have to get on our knees and beg for the money with a high interest rate! wtf?

Dude, don't even get me started on the bank thing. Before the meltdown I could walk in the bank and walk out with a check, now it's been almost 30 days, the seller is floating me $10K at 1% interest to help the deal along and the bank still can't make up their mind if they'll give me the money or not

Hang in there.
What amazes me is that the banks, with the self proclaimed smartest guys in the room, got us all into this mess with the help from the crooks in Washington. Now the same group are "fixing" the problem. Guys like Chris Dodd and Barney "gag on this" Frank. If I had my way they would be both tarred and feathered on their way to prison. Just the two of them as cell mates for life in a 9 x10 cell. No reading material, No TV, just portraits of Hiliary and Maxine Waters on the walls. Even that is too good for them.
I won't have my way anytime soon but I will take some pleasure this November. As always the little guy gets stuck holding the bag.
