Im building a small 12x16 cabin and looking for a good propane wall mounted heater, like a convection style one. Must be vented also. Anyone use an old camper one? Cant seem to find a good vented one.

I'm new to the propane heat situation. But i've installed 3 recently. homcomfort brand. US stoves is the distributor. They are made in argentina. I bought two from a canadian company but got the best price from a US online retailer.

Very easy to install. Two hours or so.

size according to insulation of course. but I have two well insulated buidlings with 14k btu units. i have had no problems right to -30s.

outside of used this is as cheap as I've seen.

where in Sask are you? I was born and bred. warmen. osler. saskatoon.

This is the cheapest site I found... Didn't buy from yet though so can't give a recommendation on it really. Incredible prices though

That website shows only unvented heaters, which I would not install in MY cabin.

I have two "Housewarmer" (a discount brand from Empire) 7500 BTU direct vent heaters in my house. Harbor Freight sells them (not the same model I have, but similar).

I'm using a Homcomfort vented heater. Works well, not cheap, although the control dial is a little flimsy

After much searching we decided on the wall mounted, vented, Longvie DV12 10,000 btu version which supposedly heats 330 sq ft. It is non electric and has a variable control thermostat that adjusts the gas flow from max down to 2200 btu's. It seems to be working quite well for our little shack. We also like to see the pilot light and the flame.....gives it a kind of fireplace look to it.

You can check the particulars on my blog on the projects page.

We ordered ours from Aztec Appliances in Nanaimo, BC. They provided install instructions and all the bits and pieces customized to our particular shack.
