Not sure where to post something unusual like this so I created this thread for them.

I think this is a neat little cabin / cottage with some great design ideas.

Yeah Cabinporn! The name is unfortunate since I don't link it to folks very often, but there's a treasure on every page.

Lol...yeah the name is a little questionable but I assure everyone, it isn't photos of people doing naughty things in cabins!

Agree the name is unfortunate. Given data mining technology, and how many web pages scan your cache... wondering if I'd get getting questionable advertisement after visiting the site.

c.p. is a good site. the pics... oh the pics.

wish there were better track backs tho ... one pic and no story.

if you want to look at it demographically (okay, nobody does, but) the title relates to younger audiences. irreverence is the game of the day. and sarcasm continues a strong comeback.

yahoo. he said, while carrying a 720 lb battery. (using irreverence with a dash of surrealism)

^creeky is right, the term "porn" has now been co opted in recent years by all sorts of hobbies or interests to simply mean visually interesting images of cabins, watches, cars, guns, etc....

Not saying it's a great trend, but I wouldn't bypass an amazing site like cabinporn.com simply because the name is a bit iffy.

Reviving an old thread but for good reason. Many folks are still looking for ideas, suggestions and things that lead to new & interesting projects.

CabinPorn site is still rockin and updating with great stuff but as I peruse place for ideas, suggestions and possible solutions for my place I also came across some more sites of interest for ideas.

https://cabinsdaily.tumblr.com/ Some pretty good ideas & concepts there - very creative.

Then of course Pinterest is loaded but here's one that really has some outstanding images / ideas.

BTW: Both Pinterest & Tumblr have managed to provide me with solutions to some of my artsi-fartsy creative solutions for my place... (there's other stuff there that well isn't "cabin related" so use caution).

I peruse Capinporn all the time (it's a book as well, BTW).

I find it interesting that much of what it shows is pure fantasy (so "porn" is the correct term). You'll never see modern "flaws" in any cabin photo, like plastic buckets lying around, propane tanks, satellite dishes, etc. These would be the equivalent of warts, scars and hairs in human porn.

I look at my cabin and fantasize that it would look like some of the dreamscapes you see on Cabinporn, but I guess I'll always have those trappings of contemporary life.

Actually, it's poor planning that ruins most cabin interiors. Yes, you may need a lot of stuff, but it doesn't have to be on display all day long on every surface. Actually studies show that living in such an environment (like the one pictured) can lead to depression, especially if it's all in one room.
