I am looking to build either a 14x14 or 16x16 cabin with a 4 12 roof pitch. I don't think I'll be able to use any concrete tubes to bolt the cabin to. The land owner does not want any concrete ties sticking out of the ground. I may be able to dig a hole and create an anchor of some sort at ground level...

I was planning to use deck blocks for the foundation but wanted to get some feedback on ways to secure the cabin from the wind. I'm not in a area that gets high winds, but wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Just curious if you were aware of some other ideas that may have worked for you.

TIA.

Suggest you look at "mobile home anchors" or "Tie downs for manufactured homes" for your site. The auger type anchor could be screwed into the ground during the wet season prior to construction if you are not in a rocky site area.

While my cabin is sitting on cinder blocks < concrete blocks> for room to put in plumbing and wiring, and they are sitting on a concrete slab, I used mobile home straps and ratchet heads similar to those in the pictures. then drilled into the concrete and used wedge bolts. you can do similar to this with the augers then strap your cabin to these. very secure.

Thanks for the ideas. Those Duckbill anchors look really interesting and realitively easy to install.
