Finally, I'm counting down my release from the hospital in days rather than weeks!!! Barring some unexpected complication, I should be able to go home Monday. My doctor has already pulled the PICC line and replaced it with a regular IV for my final days of antibiotic infusions so that's a good sign! The PICC line was hurting and causing clots, and she said there's no sense keeping when an IV will do the job for a week.

Bone infection is gone, my incision healed perfectly, and I am SO wanting to get out of here! I got in trouble for walking to a nearby grocery store for some fried chicken, haha. Well, my nurses were mad -- my doctor said she didn't blame me in the least and I just needed to be more sneaky about it next time!

My son and I are planning a trip up to my land in Oregon in October. I want to drive rather than fly so he has to be able to get the time off from work. It's 1,751 miles one way! But I don't want the first time driving there to be the day I move! I'd like to try two different routes to see which one is best.

I don't think I'll be able to build the cabin this year with fall and cold temperatures right around the corner. But we'll see what happens. At least we may be able to get some brush and old growth cleared.

Thanks, all!

Well, I'm home! Had some annoying little complications in the final 10 days but they were managed and I was sprung. Deeply resentful that almost my entire summer was taken up by surgeries and hospitalization, and that I made NO progress toward my cabin plans and move.

But I'm booking a flight to Oregon for October and will AT LEAST have a sit down with some county people, an excavator/septic contractor, and a builder to get things in motion for Spring. I'm also writing to the Biolan people to encourage them to submit their greywater system for review and approval in Oregon. If it were to be approved, I'd love to use it.

Little things. But progress. The BIG thing is fall cleaning. Downsize, downsize, downsize.
