Finally got my stove up and running. It's a very small Century stove. The stove pipe was a murther trying to get it to fit. Once the sections are all together, the last section had to be sleeved into the top of the stove and the rest of the sections had to sleeve into it. I could not lift up the sections to get the last one on so I had to unfasten it at the seam, and then try to snap it back together once in place. Anyone run into this???
My main question is about air flow. With the flue closed, it still was getting too much oxygen. The wood was burning way too fast. There is a small square tube in the back and I think it's for a blower. Should I try and JB weld a piece of flashing over it? I bought the stove used so I don't know much about it.

i have had this stove, had the same problem. I had the blower hooked up though. What i had to do was tighten the closer on the back of the handle. there is lots of play there and you can pull the door alot tighter than it comes from the factory. I got mine to work great using this method. good luck

It appears looking at the back feet, the stove may be too close to your walls.

Page 40 of the manual shows a fresh air intake on the bottom. Maybe why its burning too fast.

Page 42, 43 shows the blower connection lower back side for air box circulation.

Don't block the back, look at the bottom.

It may be an older version Dave, the only intake I can find is on the back. Mine is 11 inches from the corner to the walls and it calls for 8 or 10...can't remember. The logs do get warm but certainly not hot.
I'll try the adjustment on the handle. I put new seals and bricks in it.

The blower opening doesnt go into the burn box. Its just a hole in the back shield and hot blows air up through between the woodstove box and panel to pick up heat. But in the rear, under the bottom is the fresh air intake (option) and is it open? Was the option installed? But parts didnt come with it? If not, the block off plate should be in place or ordered/made and installed.

Is that single wall pipe or double? Single wall should be 18" from combustibles, double can go 6".

That picture makes it look crammed into the corner but really there is more room than meets the eye. Here is a better picture.

Is this pic on its side or is it just that way on my end?
