After a week of dark clouds, wind and heavy rains, the charge rate from the solar panels couldn't keep up so the batteries that are normally kept at 12.70 volts finally dropped to 11.60, so reluctantly I fired up the generator and the Stanley to get the batteries back up where they should be which normally would be 13 hours charge time.
Turning on the charger showed a charge rate of 25 amps which was good but this time it tapered much slower, one hour later 23 amps another hour at 17 amps and hours three and four it stayed at 13.4 amps.
Disconnecting the charger the batteries showed they were at 12.80 volts and typically they will drop by 0.54 in the next 12 hours but 15 hours later the have held at 12.70!
Bottom line, it took only four hours to charge where the other old tem amp charger would have taken 13 hours.....PLUS fuel consumption by the generator was less than half at one quart of fuel vs 0.65 gallon.
To say I am impressed is an understatement and my resident squirrel Bobby liked it too as she sat in front of the chargers warm air exhaust eating nuts!

I wonder if I switch from my schumacher 15amp to this Stanley if i would have the same results

Only one way to find out, I got mine at Amazon so if it doesn't work out you can return it, but in my case it is really doing a great job, charge times have been reduced consistantly from 13 hours to 4 hours with batteries discharged to 40% but will now be starting recharges at 60% which should cut another hour off recharge time and be better for the batteries.
Also, there is a large difference in charge Algorythms, that seems to be where this one truly shines as it really delivers the juice rather than tapering off right away.
Also spoke to Crown Battery today who confirmed my flooded CR235's can handle 35 to 40 amps charge, so 25 is perfect!

So what changed from the time a month or so ago when you were basically disenchanted with its performance?

I really have no explanation, in the beginning it was not impressive but now several uses later it has really stepped up, I have no idea why but I'll take it!
