Yes, $500.00 to say yes or no. They said yes but I will have to move the cabin several feet as they hit good old tennessee slate about a foot down. Another $50.00 for a building permit. But first, putting up fencing. Who knew that fence posts could cost so much. My mom is donating the three gates (dad had bought before he died for this ve...

In the immortal words of one Rodney King: "People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along?" Sometimes I wonder....

In Ohio, permit or not varies by county. Some rural counties don't require a building permit, but do have rules about septic setup.

Quoting: smittyVery interesting.. Thank you for the read.. Not to make light of this, but the thought had occured to me that the old "buyer beware" adage might apply to building and zoning permits, too. Bingo If yer religious about code, and will be building accordingly, if they happen by, they'll just fine you a bit over what a permit would cost. At least that's been the experience. Generally, neighbors are th...

We were told we had to lay the foundation, and the Viceroy was about 880 sq. ft, so the Building inspector wanted another 120 sq. ft to meet the minimal requirement of 1000sq. ft. Then there was the septic that needs to be in placed before the foundation is laid and the Viceroy...
