Cleaning up my city house today unfortunately. I just rototilled a side yard full of weeds. Nice soil. Guess I should plant some seeds, but what? My situation is I’m at the cabin 90% of the time. I don’t want to mow, water or even pee on it. Well I’ll do that much. Months of sunshine coming. What can I throw out there? Besides a tarp, my first idea.

If you didn’t kill everything before you rototilled it will probably just grow back. You can try clover, it doesn’t get too tall and doesn’t need much water.

Spread rock in the yard like they do in Arizona. Or go big with a hot tub or swimming pool

Lay landscape fabric down. Then cover in nice colored stone. Then ignore it for 10-15 years.

I would say clover also.
My second would be cerial rye..it will grow to about 5ft tall then you can crimp it over to kill it then plant something real in there. It kind of acts like a smother crop. It grows in everything and real fast.

Clover does sound good. I have rock over fabric out front, but something always seems to find a way to push through.

Well I guess I have a bit of time. Still need to clean up and till a bit more around the sides. Rain may be over for the summer and nobody sees this area.

Thanks guys. That Vinca sure looks pretty.
