Big kid here. My gas cart is getting long in the tooth. Anyone tried these electric carts? Says 220 lbs.

I would read the specs to make sure I could get in and out ok. Sometimes they make these look bigger than they actually are.

I’m over 3, physically anyway. And under 220, barely. All the ‘adult’ carts are 10 grand. My buddy has an old VW dune buggy he’ll let go, that would work. Just thinking maybe one of you has one of these 24 volters.

Right, I do. And that was going to be my next question if someone had one. Just talked to my pal, he wants 2k for the VW dune buggy. I havent seen it yet, he says it will climb my hill no problem.

It's a toy. Plastic frame, plastic gears, plastic bearings, probably hard plastic tires. It might carry 220# on level pavement, but I wouldn't expect much more than that.

The most powerful ones have 4 200w motors. Not sure how that equates to horsepower, only about 1 hp maybe. My gas cart has 10 I think and it has a hard enough time climbing my hill.
Should have kept my mini bike but balance too sketchy anymore. IMG_5723.jpeg

Paul, have you ever tried running an electric golf cart up your drive? That might give you a base-line idea of how much power you need.

Nope, wish I had one to try. Only thing that wouldnt cimb it besides my golf cart that occasionally dies, is this Tao 110 utv I got going months ago for my neighbors grand kid, 100cc gas. Wouldnt do it with my lard ass on board.
I see they have some 48v carts for about a grand. Not a heck of a lot more watts, about double or somewhere around 2 horse.
Still considering a friends old vw dune buggy, need to to check that out.

Can you put a new engine in your golf cart? I swapped in a predator 420cc in mine and it has a lot of torque...
