@Nobadays: Yes, I know Izzy
@ gcrank1: You win the prize

Izzy spent most of the past three or four winters in the Loreto, Baja Sur, Mexico area. After he retired from active participation in the family ranch business he saw little reason to spend winters in Chama.

I will mention this post to him; he can add as he sees fit.

I remember that he spends time in Mexico. That usually hasn't stopped him from participating, but hey hope he is having fun! Loretto is a nice place winter, we've spent a bunch of time on the Baja.

@Nobadays... how is your wife's back since the surgery?

I have been in Baja South more than I have been in the US this year. I have found that I now like the summer heat and humidity of Baja better than I like the Chama winters. I have some family down here, and that helps.

I bought a small house here a few years ago and it has served me well. It did the job as a winter haven. I have traded upwards to a newer, slightly larger home with a garage cum workshop. I added some solar PV and a split mini heat pump for A/C and heat as desired in zones both in the house and the garage/shop.

Outside it is 72 F right now, the high was 82 F and the low should be about 62 F. I love it. Tomorrow should be about the same, except I am going fishing with my cousin Marco.

I am not online as much as I used to be. I still use the internet as a resource tool, but that is about it. I find myself being here and there about town and area, doing face-to-face, hand-to-hand things with others.

Take care, be safe.

Good to see you are living life large! We spent a lot of time roaming around the Baja back in our VW Westfalia days. Always a good time!

My wife's spinal surgery was a complete success! The surgeon found more in there than expected but was able to clean out all the arthritic growth that was pressing on her spinal column. No more shooting pains! Now she is almost 6 weeks out from a partial knee replacement and doing well with that recovery. We are hoping to finish the last 100 miles of the Colorado Trail late summer... from above Lake City to Durango is all we have left.

Have fun!
