Yep. Not much going on.
Do you have rain storms? Flooding? We are bone dry. There's about 85 miles of the Rio Grande that is mostly sandy soil, bushes, shrubs, grasses growing. Mountain bikes instead of kayaks. Our area oscillates between severe and extreme drought.

Yes we have gotten quite a bit of rain over the past month. I'm ordering a third truckload of #2 crusher run this morning, I think 2 more after that will fill the worst gulleys in the driveways. The rains have been spotty rather than widespread, intense and dump about 45% more per dump than they used to according to VA Tech. Mt Airy (Mayberry) had a 12-14" dump in an hour about a week ago that flooded their public works, trucks, everything. Other places nearby are still in drought, one community is almost in water restrictions... so , spotty. They rescheduled river cleanup here last weekend, rain and rising water. I finally mowed and bush hogged ours and the adjoining properties the past couple of days, it had been too wet every time I had time recently. The army corps has sandbagged one side and begun work on a dam on the river that was damaged during Helene. If you saw the videos of campers going over, it was there. We did CO the upstairs apartment at the theater this past Fri, woohoo! I'm on a recycle run this morning, stripped copper wire is bringing $5.05/lb... that buys the fuel to take the worn out steel in  .

Looking back at this, since the 19th I've put 50 tons of #2 crusher run in the ruts in the roads, I think 30 more will about get it back to where there isn't a danger of high centering a low vehicle. It'll take quite a bit more to reshape it. A friend tried to come up in his hybrid Maverick PU and bottomed out the other evening. These have been some serious dumps. I heard this afternoon they removed us from the drought listing today, still spotty north and east of us.

That is a lot of stone!
We got an inch or so of rain a week ago and it was a nicely spaced out series of short bursts. We want rain but at the same time I fear that the sky will open like a prolonged water bomber drop and damage the forest service road. They are not too speedy with repairs.
Last week we finally figured out how the cattle that graze on the forest service land get onto our neighbors land. They jump the barbed wire fence. We saw 4 jumping back into the FS land. His top wire is quite loose right there. I tightened it; he's seldom there and is a bit lackadaisical about fence maintenance. The cattle have never made it over our fence (so far... knock on wood).
